Acknowledgement of the Treaty 6 and 7 Territories,
and Métis Nation of Alberta Zone 3

The members of Gaetz Memorial United Church acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 Territory to the North of the Red Deer River and Treaty 7 to the South of the Red Deer River, and the Métis Nation of Alberta Zone 3.

For thousands of years, First Nations and Métis people have walked on this land. Their relationship with the land is at the centre of their lives and spirituality. We respect the culture of the peoples with whom Treaty 6 and Treaty 7 were signed, and recognize our responsibility as treaty members. We also honour the heritage and gifts of the Métis people.
